Police arrested a local man accused of molesting a 7-year-old girl at a birthday party on Sunday, according to police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher.
Eduardo Nehemias Johnson Lopez, 29, was booked in on charges of sexual battery and lewd behavior with a child. His bail is $50,000.
The victim's mother called the police after learning that Lopez possibly molested the girl while a party that was held at his residence, Rohrbacher said.
"When officers arrived at Lopez’s house, he had already fled," she said in a statement. "Officers contacted Lopez by telephone and convinced him to return home."
Lopez is also a suspect in recent peeping and indecent exposure cases.
