San Rafael Man Arrested on Suspicion of Sex Crimes with Three Underage Girls

30-year-old man is facing five felony charges related to allegations dating back as far as 2007, police said.

A San Rafael man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of committing sex crimes with three different underage girls over a span of six years. 

The three victims, between the ages of 12 and 15, all had familial ties to the suspect, according to San Rafael Police Spokesperson Margo Rohrbacher. The suspect did not live with any of the victims, however, Rohrbacher said.

San Rafael Police detectives arrested the 30-year-old man after he came to the police department for questioning, she said.

He was booked into Marin County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail and charged with five felonies, including three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14, penetration with a foreign object with a minor under the age of 14 and sexual penetration with a foreign object with a minor over the age of 14.

“At this time we have no reason to believe there are any other victims,” Rohrbacher said.

Child Protective Services alerted police of the allegations after one of the victims came forward, she said.

The man allegedly committed the crimes with the victims in different time frames, beginning as far back as 2007, Rohrbacher said.
