The two were trapped inside the car and pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Abetkov said the police investigation is continuing today. The truck driver, who suffered minor injuries, is cooperating in the probe, she said.

Abetkov said there is no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Autopsy results may be released on Friday, Casas said.
