MacDougald’s most recent arrest came during the early hours of Thanksgiving during a “Blackout Wednesday” patrol, when police around the nation typically see an uptick in drunken driving.

MacDougald made the arrest at about 2:30 a.m. after witnessing a motorist run a red light on Third Street and then drive the wrong way on C Street before coming to a stop on the 600 block of C Street.

The motorist’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit (0.8 percent), police said.

The motorist was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into Marin County Jail.
