San Anselmo Sex Offender Pleads Not Guilty in Mill Valley Rape Case
The suspect allegedly assaulted a San Rafael woman in a Strawberry laundry room.
A San Anselmo man accused of raping a 60-year-old San Rafael woman in a Mill Valley laundry room plead not guilty in Marin County Superior Court on Friday.
Leroy Anthony Clark, 36, is charged with rape, burglary, false imprisonment, intimately touching a victim against his or her will, dissuading a victim from giving testimony, and a probation violation.
The 6-foot-4 and 240 pound suspect appeared in Marin County Superior Court wearing what appeared to be a yellow jail uniform. He had a shaved head and a trimmed beard.

After he was arrested at this Buena Vista Avenue apartment in San Anselmo, he was booked into Marin County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. However, his bail was raised to $1 million two days later, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
In 2011, a jury acquitted Clark of raping and restraining an 18-year-old San Rafael woman, but convicted him of misdemeanor sexual batter for touching her breasts.

A preliminary hearing on the case was set for Sept. 19.
Clark could face a life sentence, according to the Marin Independent Journal.
The Mill Valley incident occurred earlier this month, when a San Rafael woman was forced into a laundry room when she was visiting family at an apartment complex in Strawberry. The attacked claimed to have a gun and assaulted her, according to the IJ.
