Police to Check for Licenses and Intoxicated Drivers at DUI Checkpoint Tonight

The checkpoint will operate on Andersen Drive at A Street, but may move later on.

Starting at 6 p.m. tonight, San Rafael Police will be on the lookout for drivers that are under the influence or driving without a valid license on Andersen Drive at A Street, according to police spokesperson Margo Rohrbacher. The checkpoint will operate in both directions

Police may move the checkpoint to northbound Irwin Street at Fifth Avenue later in the day. The event is possible through a DUI STEP grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
