Police Search for Two Suspects in Canal Apartment Robbery

Two men were arrested and police are searching for two more.


San Rafael police arrested two men and are searching for two more who were involved in a robbery early this morning, according to Cpl. Carl Huber.

Ricardo Paniagua Carrillo, a 20-year-old from San Pablo, and Fredy Leonar Mazariegos Deleon, a 22-year-old from San Rafael, were booked in to on Friday on robbery charges. Both of their bails are $50,000.

Carrillo and Deleon are accused of being a part of group of four men who beat up and robbed a victim on the second floor of a Canal Street apartment complex. The suspects entered the building, located on the 400 block of Canal Street, took the victim’s cash and phone and beat him up.

One suspect stabbed the victim with a screwdriver, but the wounds were not deep and the victim was treated at his home, Huber said.

The victim identified Carrillo and Deleon to the police. Officers are still looking for the other two involved.
