Police Search for Robbery, Assault Suspects

A 20-year-old Novato man was stabbed in front of his Hill Road apartment while two suspects tried to take his wallet.

Two suspects remained at large after they allegedly stabbed a Novato man during a robbery near Hill Road and Novato Boulevard late on the night of Jan. 25, police said.

The 20-year-old victim told police he saw two Hispanic males, estimated to be 16 to 18 and wearing dark clothing, inside his vehicle at the 1500 block of Hill Road at about 11:45 p.m. Friday.

The victim and his brother went outside to confront the subjects, but found the vehicle empty and ransacked. They noticed the suspects a distance away and, as they walked back to their apartment, the suspects, armed with knives and wearing masks, confronted the victim and his brother.

The victim’s brother ran to call 911 while the two suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to take his wallet. During the struggle, the victim was stabbed in the side and the hand. The suspects fled the scene on foot.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers from and the Novato Police Department's Novato Response Team set up a perimeter and a canine team, but they didn’t find the suspects after searching the area for one hour.

Anyone with information about this incident can call the Novato Police Department at 897-4361.

Yeah, the middle of the day, in a small town in front of low income housing. This is only going to get worse. But, I guess this is okay with the bleeding hearts. They'll start talking about how the assault weapon killers are whities.

I live at Hill Valley and know both the victim and many of the residents of the complex. For context: Nowadays very little crime is experienced around here and even less involving residents. If things were worse in the past – as it has been suggested to me - it is thanks to a number of factors and people (including the police and probably a change of demographics too), that this is not typical now. The street is a cul de sac, so there is very little through traffic and lots of woodland cover - a great place to come here to dump cars (used to happen) and a great place to disappear into the shadows after doing whatever one does (if that is what one wants to do). Although this was shockingly brazen, chances are fewer in my estimation that this would not have happened were the street location not so private and out of the way.
