Police Blotter: Homeowners Burgled While on Vacation, Stolen Cars and Sexual Assault

Car Stolen at Workplace
Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on July 12, a Vall Meri Auto Shop employee’s car was stolen while parked outside his workplace at 1385 Francisco Blvd. East. When the victim returned to work on July 13, he noticed his 1984 beige Toyota pickup missing from the parking lot.
Kidnapping and Sexual Assault
A 51-year-old victim reported that her boyfriend held her captive for three days in June. During that time, the boyfriend sexually assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she left. He was booked in Marin County Jail on July 11. See .
Burgled While on Vacation
While two homeowners were on vacation from July 7 to 12, unknown suspects broke into their house on the 1400 block of Nye Street and stole their 2004 Red Toyota Prius from the garage. One of the homeowners received a call from a neighbor on July 9, telling her that her garage door was open. The suspects left no evidence.
Bicycle Taken from Bus Front Rack
On July 7, a bicyclist reported that his 2008 Salsa La Cruz was stolen off the front rack of a southbound Golden Gate Transit bus at the San Rafael station. The bicyclist said the bike was worth approximately $2000.
Car Vanishes from Transit Parking Lot
On July 11, a woman noticed her 1998 Silver Honda Civic missing from the parking lot at 1011 Anderson Dr. The victim, intending to sell the car, parked it there on June 4.
