Police Arrest Man Accused of Raping His Roommate

Jose Isaias Juarez Lopez, 43, was booked in Marin County Jail early this morning on two felony charges of rape. His bail is set at $100,000.

A San Rafael man was arrested and booked on suspicion of raping his roommate on Oct. 13, according to Crp. Ryan Cogbill.

Jose Isaias Juarez Lopez, 43, was booked in early this morning on two felony charges of rape and rape by a foreign object. His bail is set at $100,000.

The victim and Lopez were living together for 10 months. They had been on a few dates but nothing serious, Cogbill said.

At approximately 7a.m. Thursday, Lopez allegedly entered the victim's room and had unwanted sex with her. He also penetrated her with his fingers, she reported to police.

The victim reported the incident to Ritter Center and was medically examined. Police located Lopez near 400 Canal Street and arrested him.
