Mobile Home Destroyed in Friday Night Fire

A structure fire at a motor home threatened a lumberyard in San Rafael on Friday, according to fire officials.

At about 6:20 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire in a motor home parked in the 500 block of Jacoby Street. The fire spread to an adjacent power pole and high voltage lines directly above the motor home, according to fire officials.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire from engulfing an adjacent lumberyard. Only the exterior of a metal storage building was damaged at the lumberyard.

According to fire officials, the motor home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The motor home was declared a complete loss, fire officials said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
