Marin Woman Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Salinas Police say they arrested six women on suspicion of prostitution after contacting them online and arranging to meet them at a local hotel.

Six women were arrested in Salinas on Friday night on suspicion of prostitution, according to police, including a 23-year-old Marin resident.

At about 10:10 p.m., several prostitutes who were contacted through MyRedBook.com met officers at a hotel and were arrested on suspicion of prostitution. They included Chereece Pedro, 23, who listed her residence as in Marin, according to Salinas Police.

The other women arrested were 33-year-old Martisha Martin of Sacramento, 22-year-old Rochelle Thompson of Salinas, 22-year-old Jonnesha Finley of Oakland, 23-year-old Olivia Allen of East Palo Alto and 21-year-old Raven Carter of San Francisco.

Several more suspected prostitutes who were walking in the area of Kern and Roosevelt streets also were arrested, police said.

The Salinas Police Department Violence Suppression Unit and the San Benito County Task Force conducted the joint operation.
