A man was tied up and put in a closet during a home invasion robbery in unincorporated Greenbrae this morning, a Marin County sheriff's lieutenant said.

The robbery was reported at 11:41 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Nadina Way, sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman said.

The victim, a man in his early 20s, said three suspects came to the door and asked for someone by name, then forced their way into the home while demanding cash and property, Pittman said.

The suspects tied up and placed the victim in a closet, where he stayed for 20 or 25 minutes until he felt it was safe to come out and call 911.

At that point, the suspects had already left, according to Pittman. Pittman said he did not know what property the trio had stolen from the home.

Sheriff's deputies responded but did not find the suspects, described only as men in their early 20s, according to Pittman.

The victim was not injured in the robbery. The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the case, Pittman said.
