Mall Shopper Caught with Brass Knuckles in a Purse, Stolen Hondas and a Victim gets Punched in the Face

The San Rafael Police blotter for April 25-30 includes two Honda Accords that were stolen on the same day.


April 30

Burglary: 5800 Northgate Mall. A suspect from Oakland allegedly used counterfeit money to purchase items at Foot Locker. The suspect admitted that the money was fake. Northgate Mall Security contacted a suspect with the original suspect and found the woman had brass knuckles in her purse. The woman, from San Francisco, gave an officer a false name when contacted. Both women were booked into Marin County Jail. 

Grand theft: 1600 Los Gamos Drive. Sometime over the last three weeks an unknown suspect removed two separate trunks of copper wire cables from the side of the building, which is under construction. 

April 28

Petty theft: Mi Pueblo Market, 330 Bellam Blvd. A suspect stole a woman’s purse from a shopping cart when she was not paying attention. 

Petty theft: San Rafael Elks Lodge, 1312 Mission Avenue. Someone who was setting up for a dinner event at the Elk’s Club had the back door open as she was carrying in boxes from her car. She put her purse with her camera on the table inside the building and then moved three more boxes and then moved her car before returning. When she returned, she couldn’t find her camera. Someone else who was delivered food was also in and out of the building at the same time. The victim said one women who “could have been a transient from the hill” was going through the area and there was a lady who parked in the lot. The lady said she had been missing her pool pass and she came into the dining room and borrowed hers, then returned it. 

April 27

Stolen vehicle: 51 Elena Circle. Report of a stolen vehicle — a 1994 Honda Accord. 

Stolen vehicle: 41 Coleman Drive. Report of a stolen vehicle — a tan Honda Accord. 

April 26

Battery: St. Vincent de Paul dining room, 820 B Street. A victim was confronted by a suspect at 820 B Street. The suspect clinched his fists and threatened to fight the victim. The victim walked away, but the suspect followed and punched the victim in the face one time with a closed right fist.

April 25

Assault: St. Vincent de Paul, 820 B Street. Suspect was in an altercation with the security officer at the dining hall. The suspect was aggressive and refused to comply with verbal commands.
