California Highway Patrol arrested a San Rafael man on suspicion of drunken driving and driving without a license after a single car accident on Highway 101 this morning.
Victor Rene Reyes, 25, was booked in to , after CHP found him standing next to his 1996 Nissan Pathfinder with major front end damage facing wrong way in the fifth lane of southbound 101. His bail is set at $2,574.
At around 3:50a.m., Reyes was seen weaving back and forth at 65 miles per hour when he struck the center divider, crossed all lanes and impacted the sound wall on the right hand shoulder, according to CHP spokesperson Eric Hohmeister.
“The Nissan came to rest facing wrong way and partially blocking the slow lane,” Hohmeister said.
Reyes was transported to Marin General Hospital for pain in his wrist.
“Officers determined through a DUI investigation that Reyes was driving under the influence of alcohol,” he said.
Reyes has three prior convictions in the last year for driving without a license.
