Law Enforcement Officials Report Cell Phone and Vehicle Thefts

Some of the thefts appear to be connected, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Department.

Marin County authorities are reporting several thefts of cell phones and items in vehicles this week.

Sausalito police said items were taken from three vehicles in parking garages between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The parking garages are located in the 100 block of South Street and on Bulkley Avenue, Lt. Kurtis Skoog said.

A laptop computer, camera, iPod and two cell phones worth $1,000 were in plain view in two of the vehicles, Skoog said.

Officers found a ransacked vehicle in the 100 block of Bulkley Avenue but have not yet contacted the owner to find out what was stolen, Skoog said.

Anyone who witnessed the thefts or saw a suspicious person in that area is asked to call police at (415) 289-4170.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office said cell phones were stolen from two females in Marin City on Monday and Wednesday, Sgt. Mark Hale said.

A black male between 17 and 25 years old forcibly stole a cell phone from a female at the Marin City bus stop at 146 Donahue St. around 5:10 p.m., Hale said. The suspect ran into a nearby apartment complex.

A black male between 16 and 19 years old stole a female's cell phone as she was walking near Phillips Drive around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Hale said.

Deputies searched both areas but did not find the suspects.

The thefts appear connected, Hale said. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (415) 499-7233 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
