Large Water Main Break Floods Street Near Munson Park

By Bay City News:

A large water main break was flooding through a street in San Rafael Monday morning, a spokeswoman for the Marin Municipal Water District said.

A recycled water pipe burst on Manuel T. Freitas Parkway across from Munson Park around 4:15 a.m., Marin Municipal Water District spokeswoman Libby Schaaf said.

No customers will be out of service due to the main break because the pipe is used for irrigation, she said.

The break has closed off Manuel T. Freitas Parkway between Las Pavadas and Las Gallinas avenues, Schaaf said.

A crew is out on the scene to make repairs to the pipe and determine the cause of the main break, she said. There is no estimated time for when the road will be reopen.
