Updated: Hazardous Chemical Leak Prompts Wendy's Closure

Firefighters are currently investigating a chemical leak at the fast food restaurant.

, located at 910 Andersen Drive, temporarily closed due to reports of a hazardous chemicals release earlier today, according to San Rafael Fire Chief Chris Gray.

"The business has temporarily closed as a safety precaution until firefighters determine the exact nature of the release," he said.

Someone releases some type of chemical in the bathroom at approximately 12:30 p.m. One man used the bathroom, then reported feeling nauseous and having difficulty breathing. He felt better after being given oxygen at the scene and refused further treatment, Gray said.

"Hazardous Materials technicians were unable to identify the exact chemical found onsite that appears to have been sprayed on the walls of the facilities restroom," he said.
