Firefighters Rescue Two from Burning Building

Four-alarm fire on Lincoln contained early this morning.

responded to a report of a fire at 1516 Lincoln at 5:15 a.m., according to Fire Chief Chris Gray. The two-story, three unit building was "well involved in a fire," said Gray, when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters found two residents living in two of the units, who had to be rescuded. The third unit was vacant.

One of the residents was evaluated by paramedics and released. The Red Cross is working on assisting the displaced residents.

According to Gray, 25 firefighters and four engines battled the blaze, which was moving quickly, to prevent it from spreading.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and were still working on hot spots this morning. , firefighters from Kentfield and an officer from Ross Valley Fire assisted in containing the fire.

No cause for the fire has been found, said Gray, and it remains under investigation.
