Firefighters Investigate Fires Near Homeless Encampments

San Rafael firefighters are investigating the cause of two fires near Anderson Drive last night.

San Rafael firefighters are investigating the cause of last night’s two wildland fires near homeless encampments at 675 Anderson Dr., according to Fire Chief Chris Gray.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., firefighters found two separate fires burning near the railroad tracks near Anderson Drive. They were able to douse the fires before spreading to adjacent buildings, Gray said.

No one was injured, and the cause remains under investigation.
