Driver Ejected During Highway 101 Crash
The man wasn't injured from the crash, but he was allegedly in possession of heroin and suspected of driving drunk.
A Marin City man was arrested Saturday night after he was ejected from a vehicle in a crash on southbound Highway 101, just north of Lucas Valley Road.
The man didn’t appear injured from the crash, but when paramedics were treating the driver they found black tar heroin on his body, according to California Highway Patrol officials. He was transported to Marin General Hospital because of the accident’s severity.

At the hospital, the man and a family member initially gave Marin CHP officers the name of the man’s older brother until he was properly identified as Marin City resident Horrace Kendall Harris, 28.
At the hospital, officers concluded Harris, who was on DUI probation in Marin, was under the influence of alcohol, but below the legal limit.

Harris, who listed his occupation as “student” in the jail log, was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, false impersonation, driving on a suspended license, providing a false identity to a peace officer, violation of DUI probation and failure to provide proof of insurance at a traffic collision. Bail was set at $10,0000.
