Detectives Nab Suspected Subway Robber

San Rafael detectives arrested a man suspected of robbing a Subway restaurant in May.

Detectives arrested a man in the East Bay who is suspected of at gunpoint in May, according to the San Rafael Police Department.

At approximately 1 p.m., local police and San Rafael detectives arrested Arthur Luis Martinez, 43, while he was eating lunch at Carnitas Tijuana on Rail Road Avenue in Pittsburg.

Luis f pulling out a black semi-automatic handgun and demanding money from the restaurant on Bellam Boulevard on May 27. The incident was recorded on the sandwich shop’s . The suspect fled and took approximately $400, two sandwiches and two soft drinks with him, Manager Bill Singh said.

A robbery victim identified Luis from a photo, according to the San Rafael Police Department. He was booked in Marin County Jail with bail set at $500,000.
