Dead BART Passenger Identified as Local Man

San Rafael resident Thomas Fisher was identified as the passenger who died on a BART train last week. The cause of his death is unknown at this time.

A passenger who died on a BART train last week has been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner's office as 32-year-old San Rafael resident Thomas Fisher.

Fisher was found on a Richmond-to-Millbrae train after passengers reported a man slumped over in one of the cars just after 2:30 p.m. last Tuesday, BART spokesman Jim Allison said.

The train was halted at the Embarcadero Station in San Francisco and Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner's office is still trying to determine the cause of Fisher's death, but foul play is not suspected.
