Construction Worker Dies After Falling Off Roof

A 53-year-old construction worker was pronounced dead at yesterday after he fell from a roof in Tiburon, according to the Marin County Coroner's office.

Tiburon firefighters and ’s deputies received reports that San Rafael resident Gabriel Vasquez fell from a roof at 186 St. Thomas Way at approximately 1:55 p.m on Sept. 6.

Vasquez was working at the time. He fell from approximately 10 feet on to his head, according to a fire spokesperson.

Emergency officials transported Vasquez to Marin General, where he was pronounced dead.

No one witnessed Vasquez’s fall and officials are currently investigating the cause and manner of death. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

“The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released until toxicology studies are completed in two to four weeks,” Sgt. Keith Boyd said.
