CHP Holding Christmas Toy Drive Through Sunday

Donations can be dropped of at the former Borders building in San Rafael this weekend.

The Marin County office of the California Highway Patrol is collecting toys for children this week as part of the agency's "CHiPs for Kids" campaign.

Donations may be made at the CHP office at 53 San Clemente Drive in Corte Madera between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today through Friday, and at the former Borders building at 588 Francisco Blvd. W. in San Rafael between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Any new, unwrapped toys -- big or small -- are appreciated, CHP Officer Eric Hohmeister said.

The toys will be distributed to local charities on Monday.

Last year, the Marin County CHP office provided more than 1,600 toys to nine local charities.
