Checkpoint Results in Two Arrests, Three Tows and Four Citations

A DUI checkpoint set up on Friday at Anderson Drive and A Street checked for sobriety.

San Rafael police officers arrested two people, cited an additional four and towed three cars after a  DUI checkpoint was set up on Friday night, according to traffic Sgt. Christopher Coale.

Just over 350 cars passed through the checkpoint at Anderson Drive and A Street, which operated in both directions starting at 6 p.m.

Officers gave five field sobriety tests that night and arrested one person for driving under the influence. Another person was arrested for driving with a suspended license while four others were cited and released for driving without a license, according to Coale.
