Carjacking Suspects Sought

San Rafael man escapes captors.

San Rafael Police are on the lookout for two suspects they say carjacked a man and tried to force him to withdraw money from his bank account through an automated teller machine. 

The 59-year-old victim said the suspects lured him to a car, had him drive to the town of Sonoma and ordered him to withdraw money from his Wells Fargo Bank account.

 When the victim's attempt to get the money failed,  the suspects forced him back into the vehicle.  A short time later, the victim was able to escape and began knocking on neighborhood doors to ask for assistance.

After losing the victim, the suspects allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store. The incident was captured on surveillance footage.       

The suspects were identified as Federico Chan Moo, 24, and Walter Diaz Ucan, 19. Descriptions were not available.

San Rafael Police said the victim lives in the Canal area. The suspects are believed to be driving a white 1997 GMC Jimmy with a California license plate of   3XDD529.

Witnesses or anyone with information about this crime is asked to call San Rafael Police at 485-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS. This phone number will accommodate all languages.  Callers can remain anonymous and may earn a possible reward
