Big Rig Blown Over on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge

Eastbound wreck took place before dawn Sunday.

By Bay City News Service

Heading to the East Bay on Sunday morning? You might experience a delay because wind gusts knocked over a big rig on the Richmond-San Rafael
Bridge before dawn, blocking both eastbound lanes.

The tractor-trailer was heading toward Richmond along the bridge's mid-span at about 4:45 a.m. when winds caused the vehicle to roll over, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP issued a Sig-alert for the collision.

Cars passing the crash site on the roadway's right shoulder, CHP Officer James Evans said, but the bridge's lower deck was closed to big rigs as of 5:15 a.m.

No information about possible injuries was immediately available.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
