Alleged Drunk Driver Stops Car in San Rafael Lane, Passes Out

When the unlicensed driver woke up, he reportedly tried to use a wristwatch instead of a key to start the car.

A 31-year-old man allegedly stopped his car in the middle of a downtown traffic lane and passed out behind the wheel, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

After a pedestrian awoke the unlicensed driver, the man attempted to start the car by sticking a wristwatch into the ignition, while the car keys were on the flood, according to the IJ report.

The early Monday morning incident took place on Third Street between D and E Streets. The driver, Berne Omar Aguilar-Ochoa, was on probation for a  prior DUI conviction and on Monday had a blood alcohol reading that was nearly three times the legal limit for driving.

He was arraigned Tuesday on charges on multiple charges.
