5-Year-Old Boy Airlifted to Stanford Hospital After Falling From Garage Roof in San Rafael

A 5-year-old boy was airlifted to Stanford Hospital with head injuries after plunging from a 15-foot garage roof in San Rafael on Tuesday afternoon, the Marin Independent Journal reports.

The boy suffered other unspecified injuries according to the report.

The incident, which was reported at about 1 p.m., occurred at 1356 Lincoln Avenue, the report said.

The boy reached the garage roof from a second-floor balcony where he’d been playing by climbing under the railing according to the IJ, citing a preliminary report of the incident.

The boy was airlifted to Stanford Hospital from Marin General Hospital, where he was initially transported, the report said.

The boy was conscious but could not communicate with police and firefighters who arrived on the scene, the report said.

Updates on the boy’s condition were not available as of Wednesday morning, Fire Battalion Chief, Paul Crimmins said.
