Where the heck is our leadership in Washington? Our elected representatives continue to fail to adequately represent the American taxpayers. The Affordable Care Act IS THE CURRENT THE LAW OF THE LAND! Obama shoved this trough when he had the democratic congress on his side. So be it. Yes it is badly flawed but remember that virtually none of our elected leaders even read it before they signed it into law. Nice! None of them understand it. This is true for those who both voted for and and against it. And once again congress is not even covered under the ACA yet they knew what was best of us peeons! Right. Even Pelosi who's party supported and got ACA into law told us that we would have to read it in order to find out what was in it and how it worked. Great leadership huh yet she continues to get voted back into office. Now a small group of republicans is literally holding the US citizens hostage as they attempt to work their own political agenda. These supposed adults continue to meet and continue to disagree and point fingers like little children blaming others. All at the peril of us taxpayers. And now we see that because of their actions we are once again heading towards another downward financial spiral. We little guys (the ones paying their salaries!) are getting screwed again as the stock markets head south. The crooks on wall st will (buddies to many elected officials) all benefit (again) as they have all of the inside information that comes with buying politicians. And although we are now inconvenienced by the partial government shutdown the real hammer is about to clobber us if congress does not address the debt ceiling limit. Almost all of the cast of characters holding us hostage as they play their games are multimillionaires (both parties). Remember when Pelosi benefited from inside information about Visa's IPO all while congress was supposely working in our best interest to put more controls in place for those evil credit card companies? Pelosi simply dismissed calls for her conflict of interest in this situation and in the end nothing changed, and Pelosi got more wealthy. This is the mentality we have representing us in Washington today? So what the heck do we do about this? Our new congressperson, Jared Huffman, has almost no power so he tows his party line and works on his own pet legislation. Boxer, Pelosi, Feinstein et al tow their party's line as usual. Both parties are to blame and so are voters who continue to vote in the same politicians time and time again regardless of their actions. What do we do?
