Raves: Readers Give a Shout Out to WildCare

When was the last time you took a moment to praise someone for a good deed, or yelled out to tell everyone how impressed you are with someone?

Nature's Ninjas

Patch reader Monique Pflager spread some love to 's Director of Animal Care Melanie Piazza for her work to help wildlife in Marin. Pflager wrote:

"She is a vocal advocate for animal wellfare, an animal foster parent amd she works tirelessly without complaint at WildCare's headquarters in downtown San Rafael. She dedicates much of her free time to animal causes around the state and is a great example of a leader."

Pflager also noted JoLynn Taylor, the head of the raccoon fostercare team.

"While many people curse the mess that raccoons leave, at least we can still curse them. Jolynn and her team work tirelessly to raise over 40 orphaned raccoon babies every year. Raccoons are the mammal longest in care, sometimes for 6 months and many of them end up with Jolynn. This is no small undertaking. I praise her for her hard work and dedication to nature's ninjas."

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
