Cleaning up the Butts

Join us to celebrate the accomplishments of the Cigarette Eater Meter campaign! The San Rafael Clean coalition (SRC) is well on its way to achieving its goal of cleaning 100,000 butts from the streets of San Rafael by the end of September. This community cleanup effort translates into a $2,000 donation for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The check presentation ceremony will take place at 6 pm on September 26 at City Plaza, during the last Farmer’s Market of the season.  Help us say goodbye to the meter before it’s taken down at the end of September and stay updated on its travels to other locales as they implement their own litter prevention campaigns. Check it out at www.sanrafaelclean.org.

These committees oversee the distribution of CDBG and HOME Program funds in Marin County. Local governments in Marin have expanded the CDBG and HOME committees with the goal of increasing the diversity of these committees, and therefore this recruitment is specifically for individuals who represent the interests of racial and ethnic minorities and/or people with disabilities. Committee membership applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on September 25, 2013. For details and an application form, visit www.marincdbg.com
