Several Openings on County Boards and Commissions

The application deadline is 5 p.m. June 6 for one at-large vacancy on the Marin Women’s Commission, two at-large seats on the Marin County Parks and Open Space Commission and one vacancy on the Marin Commission on Aging.

The purpose of the Marin Women's Commission is to work to promote equal opportunity, economic independence and access to resources for Marin County women through advocacy, research and partnerships.

The Parks and Open Space Commission studies and recommends plans and strategies related to the acquisition, development, funding and management of county parks and open space. The appointing authority is the Marin County Board of Supervisors.

The Commission on Aging needs a representative from District 4 (West Marin, West Novato, San Geronimo, San Rafael Canal Area, Corte Madera, Homestead Valley). The commission is a federally mandated advisory council and its mission is to promote the dignity, independence and quality of life of older persons through advocacy, information, programs and services.
