Military veterans from all over Marin congregated on Friday morning — Veterans Day morning — at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in San Rafael to show mutual respect for those who served in all branches of the armed forces.

Thursday

MSNBC host and former Tip O’Neill aide Chris Matthews entertained a packed house at  Wednesday night, Nov. 9, with stories from his new book Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero. But the audience cheered the loudest for his snappy remarks about current political conditions and imitations of public figures.

The  announced today that they have hired Mike Marshall, a former Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star and longtime minor league manager and executive, to be the first manager in the new baseball team's history.

A 20-year-old San Rafael man was arrested at 2 p.m. on Nov. 8 after he was seen running away from the scene of a burglary.

Two men wearing black hoodies entered Silver Screen Video in the Montecito Plaza Shopping Center around 10 p.m. Wednesday and robbed the female clerk at knifepoint.

Ocean Beach Rip Curl Professional Surfing Contest a Memorable Success. Kelly Slater locked up his record 11th World Title. 17 year old Gabriel Medina won the competition with a remarkable performance.

A man accused of making threats to a homeless man and lighting the man’s tent on fire was arrested Saturday night in downtown San Rafael, police said.

Tuesday

Election Results: Gary Phillips elected new Mayor of San Rafael, Damon Connolly and Andrew McCullough elected to City Council. 

Three incumbents and one newcomer won the four seats on the College of Marin board in Tuesday’s election, and the leading vote-getter surmised that voters are happy with the board’s work after a period of tumult.

The Marin Energy Authority (MEA) board approved last week the admission of Corte Madera, Larkspur and Ross to MEA's public-power consortium, leaving the agency just formalities away from being able to offer its environmentally friendly Marin Clean Energy alternative to all county residents.
