Who were YOU thinking of?

No matter from which side of the political spectrum we hail, we should all be outraged at the high percentage of a number of certain persons in the US. These specific individuals are not working, cannot speak the language, are dysfunctionally illiterate, and living off the dole.

The percentage of this population is 5% of the US population. 20 million of us.

Let's bring that number into local focus.

Marin has 255,000 people. Five percent means 13,000 people here in Marin are sucking the life out of all of us, every day. As noted, they live off of us, we can barely communicate with them, they don't speak the language, and they don't read. And we let them get here through sinful means.

You know who I'm talking about.

How do we bring THAT 13,000 into focus? Why, we remember that the Canal area has the same number of people living in it. How coincidental, no?

Let's assess that group of people economically. To repeat, the County of Marin  has 13,000 people who are illiterate, can't speak the language, and do not work. They cost us, according to a report from the US Department of Agriculture, a convenient figure of $13,000 a year per person!

That's $169,000,000 a year, county-wide.

Let's get even more local.

San Rafael has a fifth of the county's population. Do the math: that means $3M is spent annually on 650 people.

There are simple measures to help. Very simple.

I mean, we're talking about individuals who are less than a year old.

You say that isn't that who you were thinking of? These individuals don't work, they don't know the language, are dysfunctionally illiterate and live off the dole.
