Prescription Drug Drive-By Take-Back Day at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael on Saturday
Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center will host a prescription drug “take back” for local residents on Oct. 26, National Prescription Drug Take- Back Day. The service is free, easy, and anonymous.
The national “take-back” program, administered annually by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), provides a safe, convenient, and environmentally responsible way to dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused medicines.
“The DEA’s ‘Prescription Drug Take-Back Day’ program is part of the White House’s broader prescription drug abuse prevention strategy,” said David Kvancz, vice president, National Pharmacy Programs and Services, Kaiser Permanente. “By properly disposing of prescription drugs, the public can reduce the possibility of accidental poisoning and prevent drugs from entering water supplies or the environment.”
