"We LOVE Our Teacher's Day" -Bahia Vista School-

"No Excuses." Have you ever thought about it?

How many of us remember our favorite teacher in elementary school?

I do, and as the children of shower their teachers with love and flowers, many bringing in fresh roses , plants and flowers, I remember a time.......

My favorite teacher was Mr Piesco in Manhatten beach California. Why? Because he taught us not to be prejudiced. He told stories of prejudice in his day when he was young and in the military. He was hitch hiking with an old Caucasion farmer, who ran a whole family of another race right off the road into a ditch as he swerved to scare them off the road. I never forgot that story by Mr Piesco. He was such a nice teacher. I even made "golden girl" of the week- one time, lol.

It's thanks to teachers who shape our young people, who love and care and teach them. I have a brother and sister-in-law who teach in So. Ca. and I know they care big time for children.

I remember my first time on Teacher Appreciation Day here at Bahia Vista, the children bringing in flowers for the teachers was suprising. The parents who sacrificed to buy the flowers and help deliver them. We have a wonderful bunch of faculty here, including our great caring principal.  Our motto is " no excuses." Something to work toward , no excuses. Now what if our whole world ran that way?
