Halloween Carnival at Marinwood Community Farmers Market

When: Saturday, Oct. 27

Where: 101 Marinwood Ave.

Time: 9 a.m.

Cost: Free

Bring the kids and have some fun dressing up and winning prizes. The carnival will have live music with Bill Hansell, who will be giving all of his proceeds go to the Food Bank. There will be games, jumpy house, Budderball the clown, ponies and more. Don't miss the farmers and local food including delicious sweet and savory crepes by Ultra Crepes, brunch and lunch made by Happy Hens Farm from Petaluma, pastries and bread from Feel Good Bakery.

Trick or Treat Downtown San Rafael

When: Saturday, Oct. 27

Where: Fourth St & A St

Time: 1 p.m.

Cost: Free

Trick or Treat on Fourth Street is a downtown San Rafael tradition. Costumed kids are invited to visit merchants for treats along Fourth Street, between Heatherton and H street from 1 to 2:30 pm. Make your way to Blue Moon Comics at 1560 Fourth Street at 2 p.m. for a costume contest.

Pumpkin Carving

When: Sunday, Oct. 28

Where: Terra Linda Recreation Center, 670 Del Ganado Rd

Time: 9:30 a.m.

Cost: $25

Get ready for the festivities by decorating a festive Halloween pumpkin. Class includes a pumpkin and supplies needed to create a festive jack-o-lantern for the holidays. Great for ages 7 to 12.

Halloween Happening at Northgate Mall

When: Sunday, Oct. 28

Where: The Mall at Northgate, 5800 Northgate Mall

Time: 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

For the perfect kick-off for your Halloween week festivities come hear the spooky music of costumed performers at the Macy's entrance to the Northgate Mall. Everything from Bach to Bartok to Mancini played by little ghosts and goblins (ages 6-17) on their cellos, harps and grand piano. Free concert presented by the Marin Branch of the Music Teacher's Association of California. For more information, please contact Mary Fleming at 415-821-3569.
