BIKE TO WORK DAY

Bike locally for your health and the environment. May is National Bike Month and Thursday, May 12, is the Bay Area’s 17th Annual Bike to Work Day. Join thousands in celebrating bicycling as a fun healthy way to make your trips – to work, school, and for local errands.

Seventeen energizer stations will be set up in Marin to cheer our local participants. On the morning of Bike to Work Day, Energizer Stations hosted by MCBC volunteers will be located along bike-commute routes in Marin to provide free snacks, giveaways and encouragement. New this year--the BTWD After Party and Bike Expo, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur: bicyclists are invited to join in a post-commute celebration that includes food, beverages, and bikes! In addition, we will announce the Commuter of the Year, and give out Cal Park Tunnel awards.

Your favorite Marin bike commuter could be selected along with one person from each of the other eight Bay Area counties to receive an award in recognition of their dedication to commuting by bicycle.  This person is a living example of the benefits of bicycling, making every day a Bike to Work Day.  The Marin winner will be honored on Bike to Work Day (May 12) at the
