Benefit Celebration for Women on Wheels and The Bicycle Works
Join us for an evening celebrating the bicycle as a vehicle for change locally and globally. Festivities kick off at 6:30pm with a reception (food provided by Sol Food) and continue with the Marin premiere of "With My Own Two Wheels."
This uplifting documentary weaves together the stories of five inspiring individuals from Ghana, Guatemala, India, Zambia and Santa Barbara, California. The transformative power of the bicycle is demonstrated by people whose lives are fundamentally changed.
The film will be followed immediately by a Q&A moderated by Deb Hubsmith featuring Jacob Seigel-Boettner (producer-director), Jelani Bertoni (The Bicycle Works), and Cheryl Longinotti (Women on Wheels).
Proceeds benefit Women on Wheels, a program of MCBC, and The Bicycle Works! Women on Wheels aims to increase the number of women cycling by offering classes for novices who have never ridden, those who want to improve bike handling and confidence in traffic, and moms who wish to ride and teach their children. The Bicycle Works is Marin's do-it-yourself bicycle cooperative and a community hub for bicyclists.
