Are You Ready to Start a Nonprofit?

So you are thinking about starting a new nonprofit corporation in Marin County? There are a number of factors to consider before you get started. At the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership's Are You Ready to Start a Nonprofit Seminar, presenters will discuss what questions you should answer before filing for incorporation and tax-exempt status as well as briefly examine the step-by-step process of incorporating a nonprofit corporation in CA.

Some of the questions the seminar will consider include: What will be the mission of this new organization and how many other organizations in Marin can you identify who have a similar mission? Who, other than yourself, should be the initial incorporators and trustees? What does it meant to be a fiscally sponsored project? What resources are available to help you file the incorporation documents? What are the various incorporation and tax-exempt filing fees and who will pay them? Come and get clear answers to these questions and more!
