SAN RAFAEL, CA - Irish folk music duo Young Ireland joins with local celtic music veteran Kyle Alden for an evening of inspiring, original songs and storytelling.  The concert takes place on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael and all ages are welcome.  Advance tickets ($16) are available through brownpapertickets.com as well as at the door ($18); students and children are $14.

Young Ireland is a newcomer to the Irish music scene, based in San Luis Obispo.  New Times of San Luis Obispo hails them as “Authentic!”  Diane Byrnes, veteran Irish radio host (“Echoes of Erin” Pittsburgh, PA) says “Huge success is just over the horizon for ‘Young Ireland’ and for those who love Irish music, ’Young Ireland’ is a testament to the strength and musicality of the ‘song’.” First and second generation Irish Americans with County Mayo roots, this father-son duo writes and performs original songs reflecting the spirit of the Irish struggles and traditions in both Ireland and America from the 1600's to modern day.  Their acoustic music is driven by “skillfully crafted ballads and delicate harmonies in a richly Irish tradition.”  At age fourteen, Michael sings with the “heart of an old soul.”  www.youngirelandmusic.com

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
