Dominican's Venture Greenhouse hosting Informational Open House

(San Rafael, CA) Dominican University of California’s Venture Greenhouse is hosting two open house mixers for potential clients on two Wednesdays, September 4th and 18th, at its San Rafael headquarters, 30 Castro Avenue.

The free events are from 5-7pm, including a mixer from 5-6pm and information session from 6-7pm.

Venture Greenhouse executives and staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide a tour of VG headquarters. Participants will also have to opportunity to network with both current and graduate clients, as well as advisers. Beverages and appetizers will be provided.

Venture Greenhouse admits resident and affiliate clients twice per year. Resident client application deadlines are April 1 for May entry and October 1 for November entry. Affiliate client application deadlines are January 1 for February entry and July 1 for August entry.

The application process is free and is the same application for both resident and affiliate clients. Resident client companies can have a maximum of three persons with desks on site.

Those interested in becoming resident clients of the Venture Greenhouse are invited to participate in a four-step orientation and application process. This comprehensive approach ensures that the most appropriate companies are selected to participate and that each company receives a thorough and unbiased review of their business model and its potential.

Venture Greenhouse, which opened in October of 2011, is a pioneering, early-stage business incubator providing an intensive acceleration process for innovative, scalable companies from diverse industries that are changing the status quo to a more sustainable future.  VG’s 5,000 square foot “innovation engine” has graduated nine clients and currently has 11 resident companies with the goal of graduating within one year.

Venture Greenhouse has also launched a Marin County-funded affiliate program currently serving another 8 companies, with 27 companies having already completed the four-month program.

Inspired by Dominican’ s groundbreaking Green MBA program, Venture Greenhouse is a learning laboratory for the University’s business students, and a community resource for innovators, investors, sustainability advocates and new ventures.
