New Marin County Workforce Investment Board Director

The Workforce Investment Board of Marin County in partnership with the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services pleased to announce that Racy Ming is the new Director of the WIB.

The Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Marin County in partnership with the (HHS) is pleased to announce that Racy Ming is the new Director of the WIB.

“We are confident that Ming has the experience, tenacity and creative skills to meet the many job challenges and will provide excellent leadership during these particularly difficult economic times where unprecedented levels of unemployment and hardship challenge the Marin community,” said Health and Human Services Director Larry Meredith, Ph.D.  

Ming has been appointed to replace Mary Donovan, who is retiring after 36 years of service as Program Manager II of the Employment and Training Branch of HHS.  Ming will oversee multiple employment and assistance programs including General Assistance, CalWORKS and the Marin Employment Connection.

The Program Manager II position also serves as the Director of the Workforce Investment Board of Marin County; since, the department is the recipient of federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds and operates the Marin Employment Connection for employment and training services in Marin.  The WIB serves as the advisory board to the Marin County Board of Supervisors regarding WIA funds and workforce development issues. 

Ming, who has a master’s degree in education policy analysis and administration from Stanford University, has worked for the HHS Social Services Division for over 10 years as a Program Manager I.  Ming has provided an integral leadership role within the Marin Employment Connection, WIB, CalWORKs Employment Services and with community partners.  In her new role, she will be very involved in working with the Board of Supervisors, the Marin Economic Forum and local planning groups.
