Marin Candidate Filing Opens July 14 for November Election

Nominations will be accepted through Aug. 8.

The following is a news release from the county of Marin: 
 

Contemplating a run for office? The Marin County Elections Office has announced that Monday, July 14, is the first day for candidates to file nomination papers for local offices in the Nov. 4 General Election.

 

The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, with an extension to Wednesday, Aug. 13, if an incumbent officeholder does not file.

Openings for school district board positions include Bolinas-Stinson Union District, Sausalito-Marin City District, Petaluma Joint Union High School District, Sonoma CountyJunior College Trustee Area 2 and the Sonoma County Board of Education Trustee Area 2. Special districts with openings include Bolinas Fire Protection District, MarinMunicipal Water District Divisions 1, 3, and 4, Marin Healthcare District, Marin Resource Conservation District, Mesa Park Recreation District, Stinson Beach Water District and Strawberry Recreation District.

Candidates may pick up and file their nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Office at the Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 121 in San Rafael. Office hours are weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Aug. 8.

 

Candidates for the City of Sausalito City Council may pick up and file their nomination papers at the office of the City Clerk.
