Tech Quick Tip: Getting Better Photos on Your iPhone

With the Father's Day weekend upon us here are some quick tips to help you capture better snapshots with your iPhone (pertains to many SmartPhones as well).

  1. Keep your phone as steady as possible. Brace it on a picnic table, fence post or hold it very steady (I have used tripod or other stabilizer device at times)
  2. Click on-screen on your subject - on the iPhone this provides an exposure/focus lock to ensure that part of your image is exposed and focused sharply.
  3. iPhone provides alternate shutter, use the Volume UP button on side of your phone (or attached Apple earbud) or hold the shutter and release when you wish to snap your photo.
  4. Lastly - avoid mixed lighting (shade/sun) and avoid bright light behind your subject (window, door or sun directly behind your people).
Have a great weekend - and happy photographing!
