Weaver's Wins Best Coffee Shop

Check out who won second and third place.

After a week, won 38 percent of the votes for best coffee shop in San Rafael.

Not only does this shop distribute coffee and tea throughout California and beyond, but it also allows coffee and tea lovers to enjoy a cup in the cafe or even purchase roasted beans six days a week.

"The coffee and tea are outstanding," said Patch reader Ann M., who gave Weaver's five stars in our directory. "For those of you who want a REAL cup of coffee, Weaver's is bold, oooh so tasty and does not leave a bitter aftertaste. The tea is very refreshing and flavorful. Clean environment and great service. Nobody else lives up to Weaver's coffee."

Second Place: With 22 percent of the votes, came in second. This location offers a wide variety of fresh-brewed coffee and espresso drinks. The coffee shop also serves fresh fruit smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices, loose-leaf teas, breakfast, gourmet sandwiches, fresh bakery items and much more. Mojay's Café has a lounge and provides free Internet service to customers.

Third Place: And with 16 percent of the vote, on Fourth Street wins third place. This constantly crowded café opened in 2002. Its Web site says it specializes in Mediterranean fusion foods, but it really serves as a community hub. From the street it looks misleadingly small; once inside it is cavernous, with seating for over 100 people. In addition to the 24 tables, there is a counter that seats 10.

Packed with people on laptops, it appears to be a popular spot for casual business meetings and group discussions, but the Wi-Fi isn't free. Outside tables are always occupied by chatty locals with their dogs. Aroma Cafe is definitely one of downtown San Rafael's most convivial spots
