State officials recently recognized the with an award for business advocacy, known as the CalChamber Presidents Circle Award.

The award, first presented in 2009, recognizes chambers for excellence in business advocacy and helping their members comply with California employment laws. Of the more than 500 local Chambers of Commerce in the State of California only 23 were acknowledged with the award.

President’s Circle award recipients published vote records of their state legislators on key business issues, generated letters to state elected officials on issues of interest to members and participated in the state's product resale program, which allows chambers to purchase human resource compliance products at a discount and resell them to local businesses.

In 2011, 21 chambers were presented with a President’s Circle award. In 2010, there were 22 award recipients, and in 2009, 13 local chambers received the award.

During that past three years, these awards were presented at the CalChamber’s Business Summit, but this year the award was personally delivered to the San Rafael Chamber Board of Directors by CalChamber Grassroots Coordinator, Cathy Mesch.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
