Panda Express To Open in Northgate Mall

’s west side will have a new restaurant come late summer--Panda Express.

Famous for their Orange Chicken, the quick-service Chinese food giant is expected to open sometime in August or September, according to Northgate spokesperson Brianna Thornton.

The space was vacant ever since the 2009 remodeling of Northgate Mall. With Panda Express moving, the spot is currently being remodeled. Other restaurants in the area include BJ’s Brewery, Chipotle, Tomatina, and

“Panda Express will be a great compliment to that list of choices and will enhance the shopping and dining experience that Northgate already offers,” she said.

Panda Express was first known as Panda Inn in 1973, until founder Andrew Cherng expanded his venture and changed the name in 1983. The first restaurant was opened in Pasadena, Calif.
